The Sandra Miller Studio began in 1984 and began its wholesale career in 1986, following years of oil painting and stone carving with Sandra's background as a sculptor, stone carver and painter.

Sandra's interest in fine art began early in her childhood and her training was in traditional Flemish painting, anatomy drawing and stone sculpture. Her themes often include the elements of earth, air, water, and fire; everyday objects placed out of context; and the undercurrents and hidden stories of nature's ways.

The main focus of Sandra Miller Studio's slate clocks, frames and mirrors is to bring a bit of nature indoors to enjoy and to remind us of how it all began.

Sandra's handcrafted slate line is well known throughout the United States and has been featured in many nature stores, home stores, natural history museums, arts and crafts galleries, and fine home furnishings mail order catalogs.

Now located in Taos, New Mexico, Sandra Miller Studio continues to produce one-of-a-kind pieces along with a unique line of finely fabricated works of art. All work is done at the facility here, where the stonework (cutting, drilling, sealing and finishing) is done, assembled and packaged for shipping.

All products are shipped UPS Ground unless other arrangements are made.

The clocks run on AA batteries (not included) and all have a one-year guarantee on movements. There is a 30-day return policy.

The slate used in these products is 500 million years old, a result of the earth's compression of mud and heat. The stone's colors are natural ingredients of minerals such as carbon and iron oxide.
